Last time somone came to mine without this specialist tool, I bought a set of "drain plug keys" from Halfords for a few quid. Had a range of big Hex & 4 sided keys in it (They didn't have a 12mm Allen key, and I didn't have a vice, saw or anything else helpful). Worked a treat!
