No, you should do the same on quads too (no diff in the rear axle), but because they have 2 front wheels, they do go round corners better without it. If you just turn the bars on a trike, you keep going in a straight line.
Sometimes when I've been riding our trike hard, i'm hanging off the seat one way and leaning the other (at the same time) just to get the weight balance right to turn it without flipping it over (they will turn over quite easily - that's why they are now illegal).
