havent heard of the glue melting before to be honest, even when the lights are fully taped up.. are you using standard bulbs?
last track day i did i didnt have to worry about getting there and back in the dark so i just took the whole unit out to save on expenses should i have binned it!
Get more air into the engine this way as well!
