That's what we need up here - healthy competition for the Co-op.
Having just one local supermarket (next nearest is 40miles away and thats another Co-op store
) they can charge what the heck they like. Like £1.35 for a loaf of bread anyone? All the fruit and veg is ****e and meat prices are a joke.
They've made so much money out of us they built another bigger store and put the old one up for sale... with a clause to prevent any other supermarket buying the old warehouse. It's now a timber yard. Great.
I see the media has cottoned onto this practice and them hogging land in the news last week.
