not sure about yours, but my bike isn't actually upright when it's balanced, even with my tiny titanium exhaust it will fall to the right every time i ease it off the paddock stand, with the original cannon on it was even worse, so your oil level will always appear to be a bit less than it is if you use the force to determine when it's level
my bike lives on the paddock stand to save space, so i get home from a ride with the engine hot, leave it for a couple of minutes as i make a cuppa, then check the oil while i'm putting it to bed
plus having had it fall on me once, i'd rather not take the chance again, light bike my ****
