I want to upgrade and get something more sporty and sexy.
I've been riding for about 8 months now, having my curvey SV650S for a similar time, done about 4000 miles irc. I'm 31 years old now

, I rode most days for those 8 months in all but the worst rain, and put the bike away at the end of november when my fingertips started to get too damn cold! My riding has been getting better, improving a lot when I did a bikesafe course with Lincs police too. I find myself not making mistakes anymore, and feeling pretty confident about my current ability, it helps that I'm quite a cautious rider I think. At the same time I obviously realise that there is still a lot for me to learn, and always will be.
My budget was about £4500, maybe £5k -ish at tops including approx £1.5k px on my curvey. Ideally no older than a 2005 model with no stupid milages.
One of the reasons I fell in love with biking was seeing how sexy the cbr600rr is. So in my heart I know I wanted something sporty, I just don't know if it will be practical enough for me in how I'd use it.
These are the things I want it to be able to do, in order:
- Look sporty/sexy
- Have rideouts and short fun on at evenings/weekends.
- Have a screen, I'm 6'3" so get buffeted a bit by wind even with the double bubble on my SV.
- Do the 10 mile each way comute and filtering into Nottingham
- Be able to tour for a week or 2 inc some basic luggage but no pillion required.
- Trackdays are not a priority, that might change, not tried one yet.
I realise I need to ride a few of the obvious choices to make sure they actualyl suit my frame and me.
Popped into the Triumph shop near me, the Daytona looks lovely, next dry day I'll be taking on for a test ride. My budget may rise to for an exceptional offer, as my dealer offered a brand new Daytona 675 for 6.1k!
I'd be interested to hear from those who have sports bikes, how their arses fair when doing a week or so abroad with some milage.
I tried looking at the CBR600F, but that second seat bit just makes it look... well, unsexy! lol
Can anyone help me out here with advice and suggestions?
Thanks,
David
