I am a great believer that a bike should be mechanically sound first, and shiny as a distant 2nd. My bike has not been cleaned for a year, but it rarely misses a beat

Of course what we're all after is a mint example of a bike that's been ridden frequently, cleaned often, maintained perfectly and going cheap...... So we can be the one that breaks the chain and neglects it.....
