Default Knockhill track night aftermath pics. (crash)

Heres a few pics of the ducati after i rolled it off the trailer this morning. Couldnt face doing it last night after i returned from the track.

Description of what happened-

My technique to approaching the hairpin at knockhill consists of blipping the throttle changing down 3 gears and letting the slipper clutch deal with the miss match in engine and wheel speed. I was constantly fast at this part of the track and doing a lot of overtaking here. However on this occasion i found a false neutral between 3rd and 2cnd and lost my engine braking. I was distracted by the false neutral so much so that i was going way to fast into the hairpin. Luckily i was on my own on this particular lap and no body around me was involved in the accident but as i tipped in for the corner, whilst trail braking, i overwhelmed the front end and locked the wheel instanlty spitting me off the bike prob doing about 60mph.

The bike slid a long way into the gravel trap and i followed it initially sliding on my back but i also managed to get a few barrel rolls in as well.

I'm fine just minor bruises and the bike is pretty much cosmetic.

Lap times on the lap timer were pretty consistant in the 1:00 to 1:02 mark depending on traffic however i did dip into the 59s which is a first for me.

right hand side track fairing remains

everything together

right hand clip on ground away, throttle tube smashed

brake lever ground down and snapped internally. leaking brake fluid

fork slider did its job well

some gravel rash on the tank but no major damage

clutch cover did its job but the bike ended up laying on the right hand side in the gravel still running. There were alot of stones in here but luckily no damage

rear sets wrecked. peg sheered of and brake lever peg bent and ground down to nothing

paddock stand bobbin saved the swing arm from major damage just a tiny bit of rash on it

mono seat unit scraped and mountings pulled through

some minor marks on exhaust

clock subframe bent

stones get everywhere. frame slightly rashed up as well

more stones and brake fluid from broken master cylinder

all broken bits removed

one to make me feel better. The left hand side was untouched

all road spec parts refitted

back to road spec note the gravel on the floor

To be back on the road i just need the following

clip ons. i wanted some race ones anyway so now is an ideal oppourtunity.
throttle tube. i wanted a quick action throttle too
brake lever and rebuild kit
r/h peg and toe lever for rearsets

radiator has a dent and the oil cooler is a litle bent but they will be fine

Going to get those bits on and use the bike as it is for the summer. Next winter i'll be fully stripping it down and rebuilding inc powder coating the frame.
