(Potentially) Breaking - SV400S (Jap Import)
Hello All,
Some knob in a Ford Focus decided to turn right across my path when I riding home from work the other day, and as a result the insurance company are choosing not to repair my beloved SV, even though the amount of damage is fairly small.
The damage isn't too extensive. Basically, bent forks, scratched headlight, damaged (top) fairing panels, and a slight scratch on the standard end can. That's it. Nothing major if you rule out the forks.
It's a jap import 1998 SV400S (Curvy, obviously) which is all but identical to the officially imported 1999 SV650S with the exception of the motor being 400cc and the front brak being a single disk.
It had a lovely Alstare Corona Suzuki WSB paint job, technically it still has, but it doesn't look quite so lovely now!
It only has 13k miles on it, and 11k of those have been done this year. The bike has been sat in a garage for roughly 9 years. My mum owned it but couldn't get on with the clip-ons and wanted flat bars, and my dad couldn't be arsed to convert it for her. So it gathered dust in the garage for years and was basically taken around the block every other month yo make sure it ran OK.
I started using it earlier this year for my 185 mile round trip commute to the office three days a week. 165 of those miles are on the M1 at a sensible cruising speed, so it's not really had a hard life by any stretch of the imagination.
Anyway, it's up for sale, either as a whole bike (including the bent bits and the log book) or I'm thinking about breaking it for spares if I get enough interest. Not sure how much I'll get, I've never seen another one of these except for one in D&K.
Make me an offer (on the whole lot, or any bits you are after).
Thanks
Monkey
