Default Another Down

Not me, my Dad. Happened Saturday for what was going to be a quick ride. I had been out on the bike all morning, got home and asked my father if he wanted to go for a ride.

Anyway, about 6miles on our way to Squires, the front wheel came up on his R1 over a crest and he couldn't get it back down. I was quite a distance behind him when it happen. I went round the corner/crest to see something lieing in the road. I jumped off my bike and started running so fast I nearly fell flat on my face. There was already a couple of people at the scene.

As a result: Him: two broken bones in his hand which need wire put in to help heal, broke right shoulder blade, lots of gravel rash on the back and legs, possibly fractured his right ankle (they were doing more xrays today at the hospital). He might have also broken his right wrist. Lots of bruising aswell. He was wearing his leather jacket, jeans, boots, gloves and helmet (obv). It was only Friday night when I was saying to him he should be riding in full leathers instead of his jeans.

He has had surgory on his hand today and they were doing some more scans. Not entirely sure what has happened today as I only saw him first thing this morning. Going again tomorrow morning to check up on him.

He should fix but the bike isn't so lucky.

The last picture shows the cop stood next to the bike. I am at the side of the road where it went through the hedge.

I know these guys won't read this forum but I want to say a huge thanks to: the women who rung the ambulance/police, the guy that stopped and was going to play cricket who was very helpful, the biker on the BMW who stopped and got out some bandges etc. Also a huge thanks for the ambulance crew and one of the traffic cops that was there.

Stay safe guys.
