I don't think he's ignorant, although it's a bit as if he is writing for the ignorant, he probably knows a lot more about bikes than he would ever let on, thanks in part to Hammond and May I reckon. Crude? Yes. Rude? Yes. Over-doing it a bit? Yes. Unnecessary? Totally.
Maybe, he dosent strike me as stupid, and I can see how he is playing to his market, but some of the things he says are just wrong. He has a go at bikers for not liking scooters, akins it to rasism, but then top gear openly slates many cars. Hypocritical in my eyes.

Plus his comment about gear changing, all mainstream modern bikes that I know of change gear with the left foot, unless they are twist and go.

The coment about the brakes, there are linked and ABS for bikes if you so choose. Admitadly the option isnt there for all bikes, but there is the otpion none the less.
