Default Re: Car help needed!

Gone are the days when fitting a windscreen was 1/2 an hour and a big length of string.

These days it is a specialist repair, the old screen needs to be cut out, the aperture cleaned, primed bonded and glass fitted, trims refitted and cure.

Door glass will require trims removed, winder mechanism removed, glass carrier removed, glass fitted and reassembly.

You are looking at a good few hours plus parts. If lucky you may be able to get a low cost independent to do it. but if he is trying a flanker, he would get a quote from a national fitter and pay an independent.

Car owner is lucky that the cyclist at fault is willing to at least consider making good the damage. when I had to replace a wing, bonnet and screen because of a cyclist some years ago I had to take the cyclist to court, only when the summons landed on his door did he agree to pay
