hi qpop....
personally I wouldnt bother, but its your bike and if your anything like me you will always find something you want to do to it, I used to have a BMC RS Race filter fitted and rejetted to suit, im told this flows much better than the K&N as the K&N is pretty close to standard (I think, ive not had one), so close as said its likely you wouldnt even need to change the 2 main jets in the carbs.
I have now gone back to standard jets and standard filter (long story

) and there really isnt a great deal of difference IMO, and thats between a standard filter and a full open top pretty much the best you can get (as far as i know?) BMC one, so unless your going to spend £££'s on tuning engine and full exhaust system etc theres not a great benefit to be had.
one advantage of going to a different filter tho is if its a re-useable one that you can clean etc and should last a lifetime, i dont know if the K&N is or not maybe someone here could let you know?
and finally...its a piece of P*ss to change as described above, if you havnt got a manual grab yourself a haynes or something simalr for around £20, should prove money well spend....oh....and great choice of bike!
