It's just timing- if the filter light's red, then easy (depending on how many people have jumped the queue in the left lane and are angling to get back in*)
Sometimes I go the other way- not sure if it's any quicker, but more overtaking opportunities, so easier on the patience.
That bend in the road off of Painshill roundabout is an **** if it's busy though- nearly come a cropper a few times where people in the left lane decide they want to move out and jump the queue. Often without indicating first or even looking to see if there's anything coming. I think there should be a solid line between those lanes or just a big feckoff sign saying "Stay in lane".
It's lovely with no traffic though- hooning round that bend at 40 or 50 is a joy first thing in the morning.
