Ruth, It's a shame you already have a bike as mine is already chage like Bibio's and it's available.
But! changing the front forks as we have done isn't going to lower it anymore than you have already done by dropping the forks through the yokes. The limiting factor is when the mudguard hits the radiator.
But you may get it to handle better with better front forks and a better rear shock that is shorter (both from the GSXR's) but again at the rear you won't be able to lower it any lower than the longest dogbones that allow clearance between the rear wheel & undertray at full compression.
