Any ignition controlled live will be fine - the Inforad is a very small load, clearly it would best if it were connected to a circuit such as the indicators - in the event of a problem it won't lose you the ignition or other vital circuit.
I put the aerial inside the screen of my bike, it's the highest and least obstructed place on my bike, (ZX6-R), but I think the same is true of most faired bikes.
