Obvious innit; stands to reason.
start by putting it back to stock settings and setting the preload to give you close to the correct static and rider sag:

set the damping to stock settings by turning the damping adjuster fully in then out by the number of clicks in the GSXR manual - make a note of what the setting is now, ie: # of clicks to screw it fully in. if stock more than a couple of clicks away from its current setting then try it as stock, if it still bounces try increasing your rebound damping by 2-3 clicks and test it again
