There are rules everywhere in life. That doesn't make any action within the rules correct. People in positions of power get relaxed rules as they're expected not to abuse them.

Quite frankly the police arent hard enough ffs! Before the PACE act circa 1984 was brought in, people were actually afraid of the police. which is the way it is suppost to be, they are meant to be a deterent force - like france for instance. You wouldnt mess with the Gendarmerie would you!
People moan about the increase in knife crime etc and blame the police for not resolving the crime problems yet you expect them to be all nice and cuddley when dealing with a roit. Yes there are bent coppers that mess up, and yes before PACE some unwarranted beatings took place....but honestly i'd rather it was like that than it is now. I certainly wouldnt have crossed the police then
