Default Re: 33 bhp restrictor F1 - For sale or swap

I will be heading down the 33BHP route myself once I get that irritating little detail of testing out of the way. I have a K3 Sport and have been given conflicting advice about restriction kits. The local dealer wants just over £400 to fit a kit that he described as a washer that restricts gas flow into the engine. Fowlers told me that an ECU kits was about £65 with a fitting fee on top and a small local shop who I am growing to trust told me it was a simple engine mod, but did not go into details and quoted about £200 to fit it, including signing a form that registers it as restricted somewhere.

What actually is the truth here and what is the best system to use? Will fitting a great big washer to my fuel inlet cause harm to the performance and thus damage the engine?

I have thought about the DAS route, but after a bad experience I am very much in favour of a lower power bike for a while, as I learn to ride a big bike safely after my tests.

Sorry to thread-nap. Will a K4 restrictor fit my bike? I imagine that they are the same engine really...

My local shop joked with me that they could fill in the form and drop the kit down a drain, but sadly they really were joking. Is it actually easy to tell if a restrictor is fitted or not?
