There is a little bit of movement at the tip of the hugger (maybe 5mm). As you say one fixing point. It's not excessive and there's no rubbing at all.

In terms of cracking - I doubt it - the build quality is really good. The right area's are thicker and it tapers to the edge.

The Bald Git has had one on his curvy for quite some time and it looked perfect to me.
