It just happens that ours is Battersea Dogs Home (and Cats) and for £60 you can rehome a cat which they have chipped, spayed and had a vet give a good going over.
I couldn't agree more. I've had a lot of waifs/strays/rescue cats. I rescued a Persian Blue many years ago, and gave her the best two years of her life considering she came to me looking like a brown underweight mog covered in leaves. Angus came in for tea and stayed, but he did camp on the doorstep for a long time, Tibbs was from my brothers litter and I insisted he came to me, with a very large hernia and three toes on his back paw. My parents old cats came from the RSPCA...but this time it was a special thing. I would like to mention though that there is a rescue centre for an awful lot of breeds both cat and dog. I've had a dog from Bassett rescue, and you pay a lot less than from a breeders and your giving an unloved dog/cat a new life.
