Default Carb Help.

Desperately need some help now with carbs!

I had my bike restricted in 2008, by JHS, they drilled two holes in the carb slides on my SV650 and farted with the fuelling. They made it over rich making my plugs always coke up. So with much help from the all-mighty friend of mine who is a mechanical god, he pulled out the slides and bike had more power. But alas, the bike didnt rev cleanly. It snagged around 7k rpm and wouldnt rev cleanly after that.

Looking at going down a few alleys, Ive got some stock carbs down at a friends which i bought from ebay. I was wondering if it was possible to slot the new carbs on and get them timed - would that work or would the fuel/air mix need to be arsed about with too?

If i take the carbs to a garage to fit them, how much am i looking for the carbs to be fitted + balanced? I dont want any fancy dyno trickery, just for the bike to run right. My plugs are coking up bad. The bike doesnt idle right and its getting harder to start. Plus my fuel money is going through the roof atm.

Any and all thoughts appreciated!
