I had a similar fault with the Sprint a little while ago. Engine Management light came on & it cut out. Would restart and run, but would repeat the fault quite quickly.
Local dealer had it on diagnostics, found nothing wrong with it. Was test ridden by 4 different members of staff; each one could recreate the fault, but when left running in the workshop, it didn't reoccur. They contacted Triumph UK who came back with a long list of possibilities, none of them solved it.
Turned out to be a loose wire hidden under the fairing, which was getting caught when the bars were turned, thus causing it to short as the plastic casing had split. Cost a few pence to repair that, but did take nearly 10 hours to locate....
