I did Ullapool to Dorchester in a day - 19 hrs it took me, with 1 hr for lunch (in Ft William?) Ran out of petrol stations on the way down and did 70 miles to Dunbarton from Crianlarich at caravan speed - just scraped it! Got lost and went RIGHT through Glasgow in the rush hour, overheated on the M6, went through the lakes for the sake of sanity and then squared off the back tyre on the motorway til just south of Bristol. By the time I got back it was three in the morning and if anything had gone in front of me I would probably have just gone straight into it!

Do what I didn't - plan your ride beforehand - but take breaks or you may well fall asleep. At least you'll be tired in the daytime. Good luck! And enjoy the GP!
