My most thrilling road to date is without parallel the D952 from Angers to Tours (France) which follows the north bank off the Loire Valley. The whole road is raised on a levee and its just bend after bend for about 40 miles!
Its totally flat so high speeds and very flimsy barriers with a 40 foot drop off either side just to add a sense of imminent danger. Its also only a 2 lane road, no dual carriageway, so add the possible danger of over cooking a corner and ploughing into an oncoming tractor.

( closest
'sphincter clutching' smiley I could find )
A most unusual road.
