Lol, thats what i thought. Watched a lass trying to get her motor out of a side road today and her technique was to floor it and hope the tyres gripped while she was wheel spinning madly. Kept mouthing '2nd gear love, 2nd gear' but no joy.
To the OP though, yes you were lucky, that happening at 70 on a dual carriageway doesn't bear thinking about.
