The R1s way of reducing torque fluctuation is cool, but how many people ever get to that last couple of % to utilise that grip?
The R1 way expands the envelope slightly, the BMW lets more people get near that envelope.
And if one overtakes me then I can go #meh# and call the rider a fanny because the electronics ride the bike

Your right about the R1, but then how many people get close to the performance of any bike? I hear a few people say they found the limit of the SV... Nope they found their limit to handle the SV, so they went to a bike that allows the rider to handle the speed easier.
Only reason the R1 is how it is is for racing though to be fair, its where that little bit of extra grip quite probably shows, from what I understand they wernt running much TC in WSB!
