I totally agree. I'm guessing the do check it against the actual frame no. But its just easier to type it into the computer system that issues the MOT's if you have the V5 in front of you...
I use a little back street garage if giving them the V5 makes life easier I am happy with that as they dont mind about the unbaffled race can on my GSXR so I dont have to swap it for the standard one come MOT time...
