Too simplistic. A religion that has been around for over a thousand years is not all of a sudden going to go ape on different religions and plan terrorist attacks. Terrorists from that region don't really go back more than a few decades.

Territorial conflict with a religious overtone. Just the same.

+1. It's all politics and people use religion as a means of recruitment/justfication/financial support etc. Not because they're Muslims that went a bit too far and decided to blow sh*it up.

Or perhaps its because they believe they're doing right by covering themselves up. Each to their own, but you can't accuse them of having stuff to hide.
Like I said in my earlier post, if the law is with all facial coverings in a public place (burka, balaclava, etc) being banned due to minimise criminal activity then fine. If it's specific to the burka then that is an issue imo. People leave their countries because they want a better life. A better life is where they are free to practise their own faith and live in peace, whilst respecting the traditions of that country.
Walking round London with a burka isn't disrespecting this countries values. Walking round Saudi in a bikini would be.
Also comparing this country to 'oh what would the Saudis do if we went over there and....". Well why compare to a country like that which does much worse. We should always strive for the highest standards in freedom of speech and practise - provided it does not affect others.
I'm personally not a fan of the burka, and find it to be incompatible within most social settings. Still though, the fact that some women go for the ninja look really I couldn't care less about, and its up to them. Is there an opposite to indecent exposure?! No so what's the beef.
