I have an Epiphone les paul. It plays ok, sounds acceptable. However I don't like the feeling of it much nowadays. Coming from strats, especially with a nitro neck finish onto the plastic coated epiphone doesn't feel right to me.
But it was my first electric guitar, and I still like playing it because it's just a different feeling and makes me play differently to the strat. However some of the plastic chipped off over the last 8years to reveal the wood underneath.
However, StringsDirect get my vote, i've used them to buy a lot of effects and place a big order every 6months or so for a whole load of strings and picks. I've never had any problems with them and they will price match most places, within reason (i.e. if the other place charges postage and they don't etc they will add that on)
