As long as you do at a reasonable time in the the day, i cant see how anyone can complain.
We have people having roofs replaced on my road all the time so the roofers use a petrol cutter which makes a massive racket, but its essential so you just accept it, if it was at 8 at night id get annoyed. |

Previous house I ended up putting a a large cardboard box near the end of the can with newspaper packed in the sides of it leaving a tunnel for the fumes to expel. Did the job and the neighbour was happy.
