Default Re: Ride out recommendations??

Sorry guys had a manic couple of days, problem when you work shifts.

Ed I got your route ideas the first one sounds very good. I'm yet to plot it on the map but i'm happy to follow your lead as not too hot on routes round wales. Hence me asking for advice.

If your up for it maybe we should set the official date as Sunday 28th NOVEMBER 2010 (cleared this with the wife) and the start time of 9am given the evenings getting darker sooner.

Starting point at SALOP CARAVANS at the top of the old A5 if thats ok with every one??? Then head off to sunny wales via the following route....

A49 to Battlefield roundabout, 2nd left into Battlefield Link Road across the north side of Shrews, head for Bomere Heath and turn off for Baschurch.

Left at the X-roads in Bazzie to Ruyton XI Towns. Down the hill to A5 Shottaton crossroads, left to Nesscliffe Roundabout.

On to Knockin, Llynclys, across A490 crossroads into the Tanat Valley B4396. left for Bala, right at a T after about 2 miles. B4391 over the Berwyn Mountains then into Bala. TIME FOR A BREW.

A4212 to Trawsfynydd. REFULE at the Grumpy Old Sod fuel station, turn right onto A470 towards Porthmadog.

Into Penrhyndeudraeth and left across the rickety wooden toll bridge through Harlech and on the coast road to Barmouth. LUNCH.

On to Dolgellau from barmouth. By pass Dolgellau on the A470 up another monster hill, Dinas Mawddy on to A458 for 16miles then left on the A495 through Meifod, turn right A490 for the Guilsfield twisties REFULE AND PUB STOP IN GUILSFIELD.

Then on towards the A483, turn right onto the B4393 and past Rodney's Pillar to get back to Shrews.

Is this ok for everyone else? Will this give me enough to refuel every 120miles? Ed are you ok to lead the way?
