Default Re: TL1000 - what do you think?

I own a Tl1000R, and I love it. You have the right idea with regard to having it as a project bike, there always seems to be something else that needs doing to mine! It's my only bike and there have been some niggles (rear shock needed to be junked, warped discs, an ecu packed up, pushrod seal went...), but I ride it very regularly and can honestly say that it's bad reputation is, for the most part, undeserved, especially after upgrading the shock. It got me to Nurburgring and back with no problems, and that journey was done with no motorway. Another trip abroad planned for this year.

Basically, in a nutshell, in my opinion, it's big and heavy by today's standards, but I haven't found much that compares with it for sheer fun. When all is going well, it's a very rewarding bike to ride. I went from SV650S to ZX7R to TL and don't regret it.

They do tend to divide people though. But I'll tell you this much, there's not a lot I'd swap mine for. Good TL's are few and far between.
