Called up the insurance company just to settle the mind, turns out I WAS insured, as they give your a fews hours leeway to change over the bike. And was completely LEGAL as the insurance database would show as covered.

So when exchanging your old bike for a new one, just cover all details with the insurers to avoid any doubt.
