I've been out of the buying market since 2004 when I bought my trusty SV. Sold it last year and now thinking that may have been an error. Stuff has happened in my private life lately thats made me think sod it, lets get another so i need suggestions so i can draw up a short list...

i am looking for something that is sporty enough but not back breaking wrist breaking material. something that should i do another track day isnt going to be too far behind (i appreciate its as much the rider as the bike but you hopefully get my drift)

want to do a bit of touring too so when im 2 up or off out on it for a while i get a degree of comfort

i have no brand loyalty so all (serious) suggestions welcome

budget prolly 5k ish, will go a tad higher for the right machine

i am 6ft 4 and the SV was a tad small on me, but it was my first bike so it suited me perfectly at the time, so size is relatively important
