so, the right hand fork is stripped and on my bench. Looks like the rebound damper adjustment is nothing to worry about, there is a lock nut on the top of the cartridge that needs to be positioned a set distance along the thread before attatching the fork cap assembly, it had probably been set to the incorrect distance last time it was fitted. The effect of this is that the adjuster on the top of the fork needed to be wound in much further to hit the stop.

The fork oil looks like old dishwater, time to replace. The manual specifies the Suzuki Fork oil L01 or equivalent. Anybody know what this is equivalent to? I'm guessing its a 5w oil or thereabouts.
