Obviously you can get them more complicated but essentially they work the same.
I'd run most things through a relay tbh cos they handle loads better and last a long time if sized correctly.

If Im understanding this somewhat then a relay is simply a gate or flow control operated electronically.
Question then:
Could power still be provided from the battery but taken through a relay which is powered by the ignition?
Im assuming that the current ignition cable will not be suitable to carry the feed for all devices so wouldnt want to hi-jack it in the forward loom.
So is it possible to run a new live cable from the battery to the fuse box as shown previously but have a fuse and relay (powered from the ignition) on this length?
