Default Re: Tools - opinion and help needed

I have never bought a comprehensive set of any tool. Although I own loads. For sockets I have sets by Snap On, Teng, Bahco and a no name in 3/4". I still have my dads King **** whitworth sockets. Spanners include Snap On, Britool, Teng, etc. torque wrenches in 3/4", 1/2" and 1/4" drives by Britool.

My micrometers are imperial, Moore & Wright 0-5", I see no point in buying metric when it is a simple enough calculation. The same with my mercer bore gauge. I think the morel is buy the best you can afford, look after them and they should last you a lifetime.

A few years ago I lost a 10mm snap-on combination spanner I nearly cried. I had owned it since I was working on Chevron cars in the 70s.
