Were a pair of oldies who don't like change BUT we changed to an induction hob last year, we still say "I don't beleive it". You must have correct cookware but the speed IS very similar to gas and instantanious. Also found to be safe with the grandchildren as it wont produce heat untill a pan is placed on the surface.
