Default Re: Smoking in cars and generally

When I was a kid we didn't wear seatbelts, and often on a long journey, I'd sit in the boot so I had space to spread out my toys. I'm still alive. That doesn't mean that I would ever put my child in a car without his booster seat and seat belt today.

In 1973 few people wore a motorcycle helmet. Who would choose that path today?

As society evolves and education improves, should people not improve their ways along with it?

None of my family who have smoked for years, smoke around the current generation of children. Not something they've been asked to avoid by the current generation of parents, just something that out of common decency and common sense, they have decided they are not going to do, even when those children are visiting their homes.

I don't think those decent folk who object to smoking around children and choose not to smoke around children themselves need to 'get real' at all. Quite the contrary, I think they are being real.
