In my quest for a track bike, I'm currently looking at buying a Polish registered bike. It's 8yrs old and has (Polish) documentation with it.

What I'd like to know is:-

How easy is it to check the ownership details?
How easy is it to check for outstanding finance?
How easy is it to check for insurance marks (i.e. cat B, C, D etc)
Is it straight forward to register with DVLA?
Do I need to notify HMRC to pay import duty/VAT?

Not sure how long the vehicle has been in the UK and whilst I admit, for the price, I could easily turn a blind eye and take the view that as it's just a track bike, it won't need Tax/Insurance/MOT etc and as long as I have a receipt I'm good to go.

I'm looking for facts not suppositions, so whilst I appreciate a lot of good Orger's may have a view, I'd like responses that are more fact based than opinion.
