My front brakes have been kinda unimpressive lately, and one thing led to another... by the time I was finished, I had completely disassembled the calipers and installed new piston and O-ring sets (having discovered one piston more-or-less frozen, thus the poor performance). Also, having never used them previously, I took the opportunity to fit HH pads, "just to see" what they're like.

My question is, how should I break/ bed them in?

I have NOT refinished the rotors, but some of the internet advice I've come across tells me I might be risking 'shudder', when the new pads grip and slip on areas where there is old pad material on the surface, vs other areas where the new pad material has 'set'. How serious is this risk? And/or will the harder HH material simply 'clean off' the older organic surface film? If I must clean the surface, is it acceptable to simply hand-buff the surface a bit with fine emory paper or something of the sort?

Once that's sorted, it sounds like the ideal procedure is to make repeated braking cycles under moderate pressure (Brembo says 30!), maybe from 30-40 mph to 10-15 mph, with 20-30 seconds to cool between each, then something like 10-15 harder stops from 50-60 mph to low speed (not stopping), also with time between to cool. Does this sound about right? (I've never worried about bed-in before, cuz with previous organic pads, just 'normal riding' seems to do the trick... but the HH's are 'different'...)
