Whilst I appreciate the comment, and the feeling amongst those that lost you, insolvency practitioners charge no more than other professionals generally speaking. A good barrister would cost you upwards of £1,000 per hour, insolvency practitioners are quite often known as the bad man who takes all the money, and yes they are paid very well, perhaps too well, but they are still professionals with years of training (by my reckoning it's at least 6 years but I could be slightly out on that) and the exams are not easy. On top of that, there's the practical experience requirement.

Anything financial based at that level is generally well paid.

That said, there's not enough regulation (in my opinion) of insolvency practitioners.
