Should never accept what a driver says always go through there insurance unless they are willing to pay for all damage caused. Once had my bike knocked over when parked too they didnt want to go through insurance but wouldnt let me get some independent quotes as they wanted to do it themself. Did once knock over a bike myself luckly the lad wanted the money for repairs instead so no need for insurance.
