sending new young folk to different departments to ask for long stands, long weights, left handed screwdrivers etc
in Germany one of the lads had put his car into a dealer for a service then went away with work for a few days. garage called me to say it was ready and the price was 150 deutsch marks (£50). i spoke to the translator and got her in on the joke. phoned the lad and said the garage had called but they couldn't speak english and my german wasn't very good. told him to call the translator as she had the details. she told him (on my request) that his car had major work done and was going to cost 1500 DM (about £500). On his return to our area in germany he went straight to the bank to get an instant loan and asked me to drop him off at the garage. as soon as he was out the car i drove off. An hour later he turned up in work laughing thankfully vowing revenge (which never happened)
