Actually Joe ignore them all, do what you want.

I have a friend who bought an R1 as her first bike 2 weeks after passing her test. We all enjoyed riding behind her as she has a very tidy back end. But you learned in the twisties to get past her as she couldn't ride. Her husband on his R6 (passed his test two years into her riding) was passing her on most bends. bloody annoying though on the straights when she would loon passed you.

She as a poor rider on powerful bike never crashed or came off, why do people assume power will lead to disaster? Although she rode to her ability and when she sold the bike she was a far better rider than the first time she wobbled upto my house to show off her new pride and joy.

Take from the above what you will. Life is to be enjoyed, but don't let bravado get in the way of that enjoyment.
