I wouldn't know about the restrictor but you could check the operation of the side stand cut out, my dad had a problem with a GSXR that cut out when he revved it, and it turned out the spring holding the side stand up was worn and when he revved it the stand moved just enough to cut the engine out, but then would restart fine afterwards.
