Is it really narrower? Th pointy SVS is 730mm wide - presumeably across the mirrors. How wide is the CBR? So how much are we looking at reducing it by?

Are you sure it's not something else giving the impression of it being narrower, eg sharper handling, less wobble, better suspension?

Shorter mirrors could be fitted, bar ends removed, front indicators replaced with flush types. What else sticks out? Exhaust, replace with oval or stubby, might get a cm or two there. Shorty two finger brake and clutch levers. Crash bungs stick out a bit, so take these off. Lower fairings, if fitted, could be removed.
