I've used shiply.com before. Put in details of the job and couriers bid for it. It's cheaper if you're flexible on dates. There's eBay style feedback for the couriers.

Got a bike picked up in Eastbourne and delivered to Scotland 2 days later for around £150 a couple of years back.
