Yeah none of us has ever done anything that silly.
On an unrelated note an org member not a million miles from here was stripping a pair of forks a few weeks ago. The first one came apart nice and easy, the damper rod bolt on the 2nd one was a git. When it finally came out went straight into trying to knock the oil seal out. It really wasn't shifting, had a check after a while, the retaining clip is still there. Very stuck and subsequently bent at this point but definitely still there...
